Beware of cheap knock off radon monitors that look similar or identical to reputable, proven accurate radon monitors, often for sale at a lower price. Unless they are tested alongside an recently calibrated, EPA certified test monitor that has been proven accurate.

 

The United States EPA recommends homes with radon mitigation systems test the radon level every two years to ensure sufficient radon reduction to below 2 to 4 pCi/Ls in the lowest living area of the home. Hiring a radon professional to perform a one time radon test costs about $150 to $250 on average, which is the price range of most radon test monitors that can do continuous or multiple radon tests over a number of years. The listed radon test monitors display radon measurements in picocuries per liter (pCi/L) in the United States and many can switch to becquerels per cubic meter (Bq/m³). Most of these display hourly, daily, weekly and long term radon levels. Some include additional air quality testing information and bluetooth connectivity.
