This base price for this high performance radon mitigation system includes a single suction point. It includes a more powerful than normal radon fan to help achieve the lowest possible radon level - more powerful suction and greater air flow is especially helpful for basements with square feet more than 1000 sq ft and also for older homes built around or prior to 1970, which most often do not have drainage gravel below the concrete floor (which is now required by code in newer construction). High performance more powerful fans remove more radon, but they are also louder, so we include noise reducing muffler pipe that reduces system noise to less than that of a typical low to average performance radon systems. This system will also include a manometer gauge to monitor the system operation, we properly label components, include operational and maintenance instructions. To ensure proper system operation, we include a New York State ELAP Certified radon test kit so the homeowner can conduct a post mitigation performance test. This is to confirm proper operation of the radon system, reducing the average radon level below 4 pCi/L, in most cases below 2 pCi/L. This radon test kit includes laboratory analysis, results are sent via email. Independent laboratory analysis helps to ensure no conflict of interest on part of mitigation contractor doing his own test. We guarantee to reduce the radon below 4 pCi/L EPA action level but most of our high performance radon systems reduce the radon to below 2 pCi/L. However, some homes, about 1 out of 10, are more difficult to mitigate and require additional features which can add to the cost of a standard system, for example if there is a sump pump present and it need an air tight cover; larger homes may require multiple suction points or a more powerful radon fan. This base price is for a Canadian type radon system, if you choose the American type system it is an additional $295 for a single story home and $395 additional for a two story home.
